Moocards!
I recently have been looking for some nifty offline promotion tools for my projects. Business cards seemed like a great idea, there are some very cool business cards around. However, none seemed as cool as the products of moo.com for a very competitive price, they will print you lots of “minicards” I decided to try out their cheapest package of 100 for $20.00 to promote menewsha offline. I ordered these about a week ago and recieved them today. I took some photos for you guys (excuse the bad quality)

They came in this really nifty box:

Here, you can see the cards i’ve purchased. I had 6 designs created, and i’m slightly dissapointed with four of them. I didn’t realise that you had to put a white background on the images when you print if you want a white background. I’d figured that it would come default. However, it prints with a black background. This got rid of some of the writing i had, and the minimalistic effect that i was trying to achieve. You can see here:

They also let you print the information required on the back. I added a small bit of information, and the url to menewsha. The back came out great.

Overall, i’m fairly happy with the cards and i would recommend you getting some. Just remember - don’t use transparent images!

New blog design ready
I have finally designed myself a new blog design that i’m happy with! I can safely say that i’m happy that my design skills are slowly improving. They aren’t great - but i’m happy with my work. People that I have shown over msn seem to really like the new design. It’s much more simple than the current and uses white for the content… which is one thing i definately wanted.

For this one, you guys woun’t be getting to see a preview it should be coming out very soon. It’s in the coding stages now. It will most probably be based around an existing wordpress theme as a framework. These seem to also help with rss subscribers which i have ignored for a long time. I will be trying to improve on this blog’s stats over the next few months I’m sick on being at 40 or so subscribers!

Menewsha: New month of items to sell!
As always, menewsha is going great. I have many people who are interested in the website, and it just keeps growing each day! It’s now at 7k members, and almost 700k forum posts! This is a great milestone.. i’m just still waiting to get accepted into big-boards.com. However, with this growth comes new costs. I am now hunting for a seperate server just for the mysql database. I learned how to use SSH to control my server, that’s quite fun. However, i’m predicting the new server costs to add up to at least $400 each month.

Later today I will be releasing this month’s contribution items. With last month’s sales slump, I’m aiming for this month to be the best ever! With the new members, new sales should come in pretty easily. Like last month - it should reach four figures within 24 hours.
